Secondary data review
A secondary data review should always be conducted before any primary data collection. This can be done as a simple review or an in-depth review, depending on resources and available information, but no matter the depth of the review, it should always be done. Here you can access resources to guide the secondary data review process, including some examples of completed secondary data reviews. Only after conducting a secondary data review can information gaps be adequately assessed, and decisions on the appropriateness of collecting primary data (and types of primary data to be collected) be made.
