The Consultations on Resettlement and Complementary Pathways (CRCP), formerly the Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement (ATCR) event is the most important multilateral forum for UNHCR, States, the private sector, academia, NGOs and refugees to discuss and advance resettlement issues of common interest.

It allows for open and frank dialogue and strives to produce positive outcomes by forging collaborative approaches to global resettlement.

Since 1995, this annual event has provided an opportunity to address a wide range of policy and procedural matters, including advocacy, capacity building and operational support.

An important outcome of the CRCP is the continued promotion and development of new and innovative ways to solve problems and combine resources to improve resettlement and complementary pathways for refugees

2024 Consultations on Resettlement and Complementary Pathways (CRCP)

The 2024 CRCP took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 5 to 7 June 2024. This year’s event was chaired by the Government of Australia, represented by the Department of Home Affairs and co-chaired by the Refugee Council of Australia.

The 2024 theme was “Solutions In Action: Advancing the 2030 Roadmap”. The event involved government representatives from resettlement and host States, NGOs, refugees, academia, intergovernmental and international organizations and UNHCR. The government of Spain and the NGO Accem Spain will be taking over the CRCP chair roles for 2025.

Refugee Advisory Group

Established in 2020, the Refugee Advisory Group (RAG) is the official body of refugee representatives at the Consultations on Resettlement and Complementary Pathways.  Members of the RAG play an advisory role in the CRCP planning cycle and promote meaningful refugee participation in decision-making processes.
