World Refugee Day 2004 National Activity Plan: Slovenia

World Refugee Day celebrations will take place on 18 June at the city centre in Ljubljana.

A World Refugee Day concert will take place. A band including Bosnian refugees will perform Bosnian folk music, an African refugee group will perform reggae music and a Slovene brand will play blues music. During the event, the Mayor of Ljubljana will deliver a speech focusing on tolerance and multiculturalism. UNHCR will run a promotional stand to distribute its public awareness materials, including balloons with UNHCR and World Refugee Day logos. The Consortium Ziva, formed by UNHCR's implementing partners, will collect donations and give out candles in clay pots made by women asylum seekers. There will also be traditional food made by refugee women.
