World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Burundi

Kids play in a neighbourhood populated mostly by Iraqi refugees. Because refugees are not allowed to work in Syria, children often must take informal jobs to help support their families.

In Gasorwe Refugee Camp, several cultural activities were performed. Six groups danced and played music; acrobats and theatre troupes took part in the celebration. Thousands of people attended and national radio aired the event.
