World Refugee Day 2003: Cyprus

Refugee children wash their families' clothes in Djabal camp. Many children are overwhelmed with daily chores and as a result attend school only sporadically.

Three popular concerts were held from June 20-22 in the three major cities of the free area of Cyprus. UNHCR flags and information booths helped raise awareness of refugee issues. A four-minute video clip of refugee youth was also screened before every concert.
