About Jeny BSG
Jeny Bonsenge, also known as Jeny BSG, is a high profile supporter for UNHCR. She officially began her role in September 2024, bringing a strong personal connection to the refugee cause. Jeny is a celebrated dancer, choreographer, content creator, and entrepreneur from Belgium with roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She rose to international fame in 2019 after a viral dance performance with her student caught the attention of Meghan Markle, leading to an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. As the CEO of AfroHouseBelgium, a Brussels-based dance school, Jeny uses her platform to inspire others and promote Congolese culture.
Advocating for refugees
Jeny’s passion for supporting refugees stems from her personal story. Her parents fled the conflict in Congo during the 1990s, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by displaced communities.
In September 2024, at UNHCR Belgium’s Business with Heart event, Jeny publicly shared her family’s refugee journey for the first time, inspiring an audience of Belgian CEOs to consider the private sector’s role in aiding refugees.
Making an impact
Following the event, she launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for those forced to flee conflict in eastern DR Congo. Her work has reached thousands, driving meaningful engagement with the refugee cause.
