UNHCR together with its counterparts, the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs and the Ministry of Education, inaugurated their joint project Shahid Mohseni School; a 12-classroom primary school for girls and boys constructed in Shahid Naseri Settlement in Saveh city of Markazi province.
Shahid Naseri is the largest refugee settlement in Iran hosting about 5,000 Afghan refugees. The school has significantly enhanced refugee children access to education particularly for Afghan refugee girls and has a capacity of 610 students in two shifts for girls and boys.
