To celebrate World Refugee Day 2003, a concert by the world famous string quartet "Komitas" took place at "Gladzor" University of Yerevan.

UNHCR collaborated with the NGO, Project Harmony, to create a website for young refugees, who are being trained in web design and drafting so that they can contribute stories on refugee issues. Young Armenians are encouraged to join the group to ensure a high level of interaction between refugees and locals.

A radio station for youth, Maxliberty, broadcast live debates on refugee youth issues. The local print media also featured stories about refugee youth in Armenia.

A poster competition was held among refugees and young nationals. The best poster will be printed and disseminated among schools, universities, NGOs, government agencies and other organisations. A chalk-drawing competition was also held among 50 refugee children in Yerevan. Winners received prizes and UNHCR caps.

A chalk-drawing contest, titled 'We are living in Armenia', organized among 50 refugee children in Yerevan, Armenia.

The simulation game "Model UN", supported, among others, by UNICEF and several youth NGOs, brought together some 300 young refugees and nationals, who, after undergoing a thorough preparation in a summer camp, will assume the roles of the countries represented in the United Nations and, in particular, the Security Council.
