High Commissioner's trip to Russia

The High Commissioner is visiting Moscow 22-25 October. She will discuss with Russian officials the situation in the Northern Caucasus. Mrs. Ogata is scheduled to meet Russia's President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and other high-ranking officials. UNHCR is assisting some 140,000 people displaced from Chechnya and hosted by neighbouring Ingushetia. Most of them are expected to spend their second winter in displacement.
