Netherlands
In 2019, the total influx of asylum seekers in the Netherlands was 29,435, slightly decreasing compared to the two previous years. This number includes 1,046 unaccompanied children. Most persons of concern were coming from Syria, Eritrea, and Nigeria.
The UNHCR Representation in the Netherlands is located in The Hague and is part of the regional office in Brussels. We follow and comment on developments in policy, legislation, and the daily practice of refugee protection. We are working with the Dutch government to resettle refugees. In addition, we are committed to creating public support for asylum seekers, refugees, and UNHCR worldwide through publicity campaigns and fundraising from public and private donors.
