About Ancillar
Ancillar became a High Level Influencer for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's LuQuLuQu campaign in 2017.
Ancillar is an award-winning South-African journalist, working with both Forbes African magazine and CNBC. She is also a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and co-runs a reusable sanitary pads company that conducts advocacy work around girls' education.
Since 2017 Ancillar has been committed to changing the narrative of the African refugee. She has visited Dzaleka camp in Malawi to learn more about UNHCR’s frontline work, and how best she can use her talents and platform to help those who have been forced to flee.
Ancillar was also involved in the LuQuLuQu fundraising and public engagement campaigns as part of a donor journey towards helping prevent the coronavirus spread in refugee camps in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ancillar is dedicated to providing sustainable solutions to the refugee crisis. One example of this dedication is her participation in an event organized by the women’s business network in South Africa, bringing together women industry leaders in support of women and girls forced to flee.
Following World Refugee Day in 2020, and the social movements around the world due to the coronavirus global pandemic, Ancillar participated in a LuQuLuQu video with other High-Level Influencers in which they explored the meaning of what it means to #DoItLuQuLuQu.
