UNHCR Afghanistan leads the Protection Cluster, co-leads the Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items Cluster with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Camp Coordination Camp Management Cluster (CCCM) with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The Global Protection Cluster (GPC) is a network of local and national responders and actors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international organizations and United Nations (UN) agencies, engaged in protection work in humanitarian crises, including conflict and disasters.

Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items (ES/NFI) Cluster

The Global Shelter Cluster (GSC) is an Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) coordination mechanism that supports people affected by natural disasters and internally displaced people affected by conflict with the means to live in safe, dignified and appropriate shelter.

Camp Coordination Camp Management Working Group

The Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Working Group in Afghanistan was established in October 2021 to address the coordination, protection, and advocacy needs of partners regarding existing informal settlements, also known as Informal settlements (ISET).
