South America UNHCR-NGO Consultations

"Solidarity in action on the path to the Global Refugee Forum"

Given the complex human mobility context in the South American region, the role of Civil Society Organizations and the Private Sector in supporting people seeking asylum in mixed migratory movements is more important than ever. The First Global Refugee Forum (GRF) on 17-18 December 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland will provide an opportunity to have a deeper and more impactful collective action towards common protection and solutions goals.

The South America UNHCR-NGO Consultations will provide NGOs and the Private Sector with the space for traditional consultations as well as the opportunity to make concrete progress towards the first GRF in December.

The Consultations are co-organized by UNHCR, HIAS and the Center for the Protection of Refugees and Immigrants (CEPRI), and will be held at the Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
