World Refugee Day 2003 National Activity Plan: Colombia

A video about displaced youth will be shown at 500 schools with the support of the Ombudsman's Office and the Ministry of Education. A poster will also be produced on the same theme by UNHCR and the Ombudsman's Office.

In Bogota, paintings donated by many artists will be auctioned at Cometa Gallery in the third week of June in benefit of refugees. UNHCR will organise a concert with internally displaced youth. An exclusive preview of the award-winning film about forced displacement, La primera noche, will also be held in the capital.

Displaced youth will perform at a cultural event in the city of Apartadó, where a photo exhibition will also be held.

In Quibdó, a Youth Week will be organised, with activities like theatre plays, a music festival and video screenings.

In Puerto Asis and Pasto, displaced youth will perform for the public. There will also be a forum on the issues of displaced young people at the University of Nariño.
