World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Nepal

On 20 June, UNHCR and the Nepal Law Campus in Kathmandu organized a programme to highlight refugee issues in Nepal. UNHCR officials briefed the audience on the agency's role in Nepal and the documentary "Global View 2007" was screened.
Volleyball tournaments were organized in all seven refugee camps in eastern Nepal. Players were given volleyballs, uniforms, shoes and T-shirts. Japan's TV Asahi filmed the volleyball tournament and WRD cultural programmes in the camps.
