During the early hours of 10 June, a multi-story residential complex was damaged in Odesa following a loitering munitions attack.
The attack which resulted in the tragic loss of life, has damaged or destroyed about 46 homes, leaving some 100 people without a roof over their heads.
Speaking at the site of the attack, UNHCR’s Associate Protection Officer, Volodymyr Bielienkyi said that teams are on the ground speaking with locals to identify their needs and to continue monitoring the situation.
Working closely with local authorities, and partner NGO Tenth of April, UNHCR was quickly on site the following morning to support the affected community and providing information on how to access temporary accommodation assistance. With our partner, Emergency Shelter Kits (ESKs) were distributed to repair damaged houses. These kits include tarpaulin, timber, nails and other items.
UNHCR and partners will continue to support the community in the period ahead.
