Fridtjof Nansen was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on behalf of the displaced victims of the First World War and related conflicts.
How can one combine the qualities of an Arctic explorer and a diplomat, a researcher, a humanitarian, and a peacemaker?
Find out at Nansen Fest on October 12th in Kyiv.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine and the Nordic Center invite you to celebrate the birthday of the famous Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen together and to dive into his world of adventures, discoveries, and aspirations.
Nansen is well-known for being the first man to cross the Greenland icecap and dare to approach the North Pole. But have you heard about his connection to Ukraine?
The challenges that the Norwegian explorer faced 100 years ago are still relevant and inspiring today:
– How to stay curious, open-minded, dedicated and always moving ahead?
– How to motivate people to reach goals that seem unreachable?
– How to be a leader who can inspire others for positive change?
– How to include sustainability to the value system, social initiatives and business?
Let’s find answers to these questions at Nansen Fest!
The event is held both in Ukrainian and English with no additional translation, as it features both international and Ukrainian speakers and guests.
Our guests from Norway, Carl Emil Vogt – historian, author of Fridtjof Nansen – The Man and the World, Steinar Bryn – peacemaker, former director of the Nansen Academy, and Unn Irene Aasdalen – present director of the Nansen Academy, will help us explore the phenomenon of Nansen.
