Our first session of art therapy was a success! Only a few tote bags and some acrylic painting, and the magic happened.
Women Refugees could express themselves freely and create a personalized bag to take home.
“I never learned how to paint in my life”, shared one of the participants after the session. “I never got a chance to go to school. This activity made me so happy. I am now learning art, and it feels good! I want my life to be as beautiful as my painting!”
Art Therapy has multiple benefits in alleviating stress and creating social connections among the refugee community. More importantly, it offers a safe space for women to learn and enjoy themselves together!
