Through financial contributions and engagement, Qatar provides vital support, both for emergency programming and ensuring UNHCR can provide essential services and meet the needs of displaced people. Qatar’s multi-year and unearmarked contributions since 2019 have provided UNHCR with a predictable and flexible source of funding, enabling UNHCR to support those in greatest need and kick-start emergency responses around the world.
With a focus on education, shelter, health, livelihoods, and cash assistance, Qatar enables continued humanitarian response worldwide, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia and the Pacific regions. UNHCR has a long-standing strategic relationship with the State of Qatar and its entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Ministry of Justice, National Human Rights Committee, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, Qatar Fund for Development, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
