World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Tanzania

Tanzania's Home Affairs Minister Joseph J. Mungai on 19 June handed naturalization certificates to 550 Somali Bantu refugees at the Chogo settlement in the Tanga Region.

A four-kilometre walk through Dar es Salaam was organized on 20 June, followed by a discussion on refugee issues at Karimjee Grounds. At this event, an award was presented to Burundian refugee and law student, Serges Ntirwihisha, for his outstanding efforts in advocating for the rights of refugees.
