2. Adoption of the draft report of the twelfth meeting of the Standing Committee

(23-25 June 1998)

The Draft Report of the Twelfth Meeting of the Standing Committee is contained in document EC/48/SC/CRP.33, as are the decisions adopted at that meeting.

3. Programme and funding matters

A report on Refugee Registration and Statistics (EC/48/SC/CRP.35) will be before the Standing Committee for consideration.

4. Situation reports

Under this agenda item, the Standing Committee will review activities in the following two regions, each of which will be introduced and discussed separately:

(i) The Americas (EC/48/SC/CRP.36);

(ii) Asia and the Pacific (EC/48/SC/CRP.37).

5. Protection/Programme policy issues

The Standing Committee will consider the following documentation, each of which will be introduced and discussed separately:

(i) Refugee Children and Adolescents, Including Follow-up to the 1997 Evaluation and Report on Implementation of the Machel Study (EC/48/SC/CRP.38);

(ii) The Situation of Older Refugees (EC/48/SC/CRP.39);

(iii) Economic and Social Impact of Massive Refugee Populations on Host Developing Countries, as well as other Countries: a Quantitative Assessment on the Basis of Special Case Studies (EC/48/SC/CRP.40).

6. Oversight issues

The Standing Committee will have before it Implementing Partners Compliance with Audit Certification (EC/48/SC/CRP.41).

7. Programme and funding matters

An Overview of UNHCR Activities 1997-1999 (A/AC.96/900) prepared for the forty-ninth session of the Executive Committee will be before the Standing Committee for review. This document will include addenda on expenditure; budgets and post requirements (countries/areas, other programmes and Headquarters) (Add. 1); update on UNHCR programme and funding projections for 1998 and 1999 (Add. 2); and the report of the ACABQ (Add. 3). The Standing Committee will also be invited to consider a proposal for UNHCR's budget structure (EC/47/SC/CRP.43).

8. Financial matters

Two Executive Committee reports will be considered by the Standing Committee under this agenda item: Voluntary Funds Administered by the High Commissioner: Accounts for the Year 1997 (A/AC.96/899); Report of the Board of Auditors to the General Assembly on the Accounts of the Voluntary Funds Administered by UNHCR for the period ended December 1997 (A/AC.96/901), and its addendum, Measures Taken or Proposed in Response to the Recommendations in the Report of the Board of Auditors (A/AC.96/901/Add.1).

9. Protection/Programme policy issues

Under this agenda item, the Standing Committee will have before it a conference room paper concerning reintegration (EC/48/SC/CRP.42).

10. Management and financial issues

An update on change management (EC/48/SC/CRP.44) will be before the Standing Committee for consideration.
