UNHCR’s Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries has developed a set of recommendations on strengthening refugee protection at the national, European and global level.
UNHCR’s Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries has developed a paper that sets out UNHCR’s views and recommendations to further strengthen refugee protection in Denmark, as well as guide Denmark’s engagement in European and international fora where issues of refugee protection and asylum are being discussed.
The recommendations are addressed to the Danish Government, parliamentarians and all other relevant stakeholders and aim at contributing to constructive discussions on strengthening protection of refugees in Denmark, in Europe and globally.
UNHCR is publishing this paper at a time when important discussions are taking place; at the European level with the European Commission’s recent proposal for a Pact on Asylum and Migration; and globally with the significant opportunities provided by the Global Compact on Refugees, adopted in 2018, and last year’s Global Refugee Forum.
Similar papers have been published in other countries, covered by the UNHCR Representation.
