Actor
Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada is a child actor from Afghanistan. He became famous for his role as the Hazara boy Hassan, a loyal friend and servant of the richer boy Amir, in the film ‘Kite Runner’ based on Khaled Hosseini’s best-selling novel.
Paramount Pictures decided to move Ahmad and his family to the United Arab Emirates after people in his homeland responded negatively to a scene in the movie where his character Hassan is raped.
After living for three years in the Gulf state Ahmad and his family moved back to Afghanistan, but the young actor continued to receive death threats for his role in ‘The Kite Runner’, a movie which was well received by the public and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Due to the continuous threats Ahmad fled to Sweden in 2011. Today he lives in Borlänge, where he is studying Swedish, but he is still dreaming of a career as an actor.
During the summer of 2016 he made his debut as a host on Swedish radio, in which he openly told the public about his escape from Afghanistan to Sweden.
