UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has submitted its observations to the Icelandic government’s law proposal on the Icelandic Act on Foreigners.
The amendments are introducing a number of modifications in temporary permits for unaccompanied and separated children, duration and renewal of residence permits, family reunification and powers of the Chair of the Appeals Board and the authority of the Minister of Interior. UNHCR is in its observations providing a number of concrete recommendations to Iceland’s authorities and decision-makers.
