UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has submitted our observations to Lithuania’s amendments to the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Status of Aliens.
The law amendments were adopted by Lithuania’s Parliament on 13 July 2021 in a fast-track procedure.
The amendments are introducing a number of modifications in the procedures for border management, asylum processing and reception conditions, and UNHCR is in its observations providing a number of concrete recommendations to Lithuania’s authorities and decision-makers.
