Come meet us virtually, 29-30 May!
UNHCR Nordic and Baltic Countries will join the World Village Festival 2021 together with other UN agencies and affiliates in Finland on 29-30 May 2021. This year, for the first time ever the festival will be organized virtually. Come explore the village and chat with us!
This year the theme of the festival is future. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, will be one of the nine UN organizations present at the virtual UN village. Thanks to the online mode it will be possible to join the festival from anywhere in the world.
UNHCR is collaborating with their partners, the Finnish Refugee Council, in a joint booth at the event. At the booth you can watch a video, read more about our organizations, and find out more on how you can get involved in helping refugees in Finland and beyond.
You can also come with your questions and chat to us directly. We will be available for chatting on Saturday 29 May from 3pm to 6pm (UTC+3) and on Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Outside these hours guests can explore the village independently. The link to the village will be available by 10am on Saturday 29 May.
Join us to hear about the work UN agencies are doing to support sustainable development all over the world!
In addition to the village, the UN organizations in Finland will organize separate events:
The events will be held in both Finnish and English, and they can be viewed on the festival website until 4 June.
The World Village festival is an event featuring numerous concerts from around the world and from Finland, current documentary films, tens of thought-provoking speeches, kids’ programme and a trade fair. The event is admission free. The main event is organized by Finnish Development NGOs Fingo, an umbrella organization for approximately 300 international development organizations.
The festival website provides information on how to join the event.
