Freelance journalist, lawyer and entrepreneur
Behrang Kianzad was born the 8th of August 1979 in Iran. He came to Sweden as an unaccompanied refugee minor in 1993. Today, he is working as a freelance journalist, author and public debater.
Kianzad has written columns and articles for several Swedish newspapers, including Aftonbladet, Expressen, Svenska Dagbladet and Dagens Nyheter. He has also written articles for the American news magazine Time Magazine. He is engaged in the public debate on migration, integration, multiculturalism and law.
Radio broadcasting has also been a vital part of Kianzad’s professional career as he has been working with consumer journalism at the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation, and has been a host at Radio AF. Kianzad has also worked as head of communication at the organisations ‘Youth against racism’ and ‘Musicians against racism’.
Together with his colleague Lasse Sandstrom he co-authored the book ‘Sanningens många nyanser’ in 2008. The book is about modern journalism’s role in covering diversity in the society. The book is now a standard text at the national schools of journalism.
