Singer, songwriter and producer
Mahan Moin is an artist and songwriter born in Iran. When she was 9 years old her family fled from Iran because they were threatened by the Iranian authorities due to their political beliefs.
Moin started to sing and play music in an early age with her father, himself a musician. Music has become a way for her to express stories about her personal life and background. In 2002, she was a part of the girl-band Adorus, however, the group later decided to split up.
In 2011, Moin was one of the contestants on the Persian version of American Idol, named Googoosh Music Academy, which was sent from London and viewed by more than 55 million people worldwide. The big Persian star Googoosh was the head judge of the show and told Moin “that she was made for the stage”. She finished at the third place in the music contest, but from that moment on her fan base has just been growing bigger than she could have imagined. Moin is mostly known in Iran, but in 2014 she participated in the Swedish Melodi Grand Prix with the song ALEO.
