UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has submitted its observations to the Danish government’s proposal for amendments to the Aliens Act (Restricting the possibility of obtaining a permanent residence permit for foreigners who have actively opposed the clarification of their identity in connection with an application for a residence permit in this country).
The proposed amendments seek to limit access to a permanent residence permits for those who, during the processing of their application, for example for asylum, actively oppose clarification of their identity. The proposal states as examples: Incorrect age, name, nationality or country of origin.
