World Refugee Day 2003 National Activity Plan: Belize

On June 20, an information and sports fair will be held in the Valley of Peace, which has the largest refugee community in Belize. The Minister of State, the Honourable Agripino Cawich, will open the fair with the valley's area representative. There will also be photography and poster displays highlighting refugee children and youth.
In schools, there will be displays and presentations on the theme of refugees. A World Refugee Day essay contest will be held for secondary students. The best two essays will be published in a newspaper.
Special radio shows about refugees will be broadcast on Stereo Amor and Love FM.
