Dursa Mama of the youth association Spark15 was invited as a guest during the 18 June edition of LovinDaily. In conversation with journalist Yannick Pace, Dursa spoke about the importance of mutual respect and understanding to facilitate integration among refugee, asylum-seeker and migrant communities and the host community in Malta. Stressing the importance of an event like World Refugee Day to keep the plight of those seeking safety after being forced to move from their home countries, Dursa – originally from Ethiopia – delved into how Spark15 was established, and how it has clearly helped many youths struggling to integrate during the early stages of their arrival to Malta, by organising English language lessons and helping bridge the gap between host communities and new arrivals through well-attended football tournaments.
