On World Refugee Day 2021, UNHCR Malta invited local organisations to stand with refugees.
“Promoting and ensuring the inclusion of refugees should be an all-of-society approach, and that is why we are so encouraged by the way more and more community organisations, NGOs, Governmental entities and private companies are standing with refugees.”
Samar Mazloum, UNHCR Representative to Malta
Everyone can contribute to creating a welcoming environment for those fleeing violence and persecution. Through mutual collaboration, we can strive towards a world in which refugees can settle, interact and thrive in their new home.
On World Refugee Day, UNHCR Malta asked some of the organisations, stakeholders and communities we collaborate with to share a message of inclusion.
Collected below are their inspiring words.
We would like to thank all of the organisations who took part, which include: African Media Association Malta, Blue Door English, Centru Tbexbix, General Workers Union, The Malta Foundation for Wellbeing in Society, Hal Far Outreach, International Protection Agency, Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Malta, Kopin, Malta Libraries, Malta Microfinance, Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS), NWAMI International Malta, ROAR Forklift & Equipment Training, Santa Venera Local Council, Skills Zone Malta Company Limited, Somali Community Malta, Sudanese Community Malta, TAMA, Teatru Salesjan and Richmond Foundation.
