Call for Applications
In December 2018, UNHCR organised training in Communications for Refugee and Migrant Community Organisations, led by Tolga Temuge, of East to West Communications. The training took place at Vilhena band club, Floriana.

In 2017 and 2018, UNHCR Malta provided capacity-building training for community-based organisations. To further support the strengthening of organisational capacities, UNHCR Malta also funded coaching sessions for such organisations in 2019 and the first half of 2020.
Applications for new coaching sessions for refugee-led organisations (RLOs) are open from 9 to 23 October. The coaching sessions will take place between October and December 2020. The aim of this coaching exercise is to provide tailored support to enhance leadership capacities, encourage further independent action and to share technical advice.
Participating organisations are expected to be committed to and sincerely engaged in this coaching exercise by ensuring regular attendance, active participation and timely follow-up actions.
The number, regularity and duration of coaching sessions which can be offered will be determined by the number of successful applications. Submitted applications will be assessed by a multi-functional team.
The scheduling of the coaching sessions for successful applicants will be done jointly by the coach and RLO. In order to ensure organisational support and commitment of the individuals involved in this exercise, RLOs must ensure that at least 2 representatives are available for each coaching session. The sessions shall be delivered at the premises of the participating RLO (if available), at a location agreed upon by the coach and RLO, or online. Sessions delivered in person must abide by covid-19 safety measures. Coaching plans will be devised between the coach and respective RLO based on the latter’s needs and the timeframe within which targets must be reached.
