Call for Applications: Fellowship Programme for Emerging Displaced Scholars

UNHCR Jordan is pleased to announce the fellowship programme offered by Columbia Global Centres in Amman in the field of humanities. This programme starts on 1 January 2019, during which the successful candidate will be offered a 12-month fellowship to further develop their scholarly pursuits, along with a stipend of $25,000 USD, including health insurance.

The selected fellow will be matched with a relevant faculty member at the Columbia University in New York, who will mentor them throughout the year. They will also have access to the Columbia University’s online library resources and online courses, among other platforms.

Eligibility requirements include:
• Be a candidate is a PhD student who have had their doctorate disrupted; Or post-doctoral fellow who was awarded a doctorate in the humanities or humanistic social sciences; Or early career scholar who were employed at an accredited institution of higher learning and were forcibly displaced from their home country for reasons related to the emergence of security concerns and/or armed conflict
• Project is based in the humanities field
• Have advanced English language proficiency
