Italian business in the fashion sector together with the National Chamber for Italian Fashion in a race of solidarity
Rome, 7 March 2022- The world of Italian fashion has responded positively to the appeal by the President of the National Chamber for Italian Fashion (CNMI), Carlo Capasa, and is increasing its support to UNCHR for the Ukraine emergency.
Many fashion houses and designers, in synergy with the appeal by the National Chamber for Italian Fashion, the promoter of its race of solidarity following the impulse received from the OTB Foundation, have decided to guarantee their support for people fleeing from Ukraine and those who remain in the country with important donations, among them: Armani, Bottega Veneta, Dolce&Gabbana, Donatella Versace personalmente, Etro, Ferragamo, Furla, Gruppo Prada, Golden Goose, Gucci, Max Mara, Missoni, Moncler e Stone Island, Trussardi, Valentino, Zegna. And the list grows from one hour to the next.
“At this time, everybody’s help is important and this is why we want to thank the CNMI, President Capasa and all the companies that have chosen to donate in these dramatic hours,” said Chiara Cardoletti, the representative of the UNHCR for Italy, the Holy See and San Marino. We estimate that 12 million people in Ukraine will need help and protection, while more than 4 million Ukrainian refugees could need protection and care in the neighbouring countries in the forthcoming months. Enormous resources are needed and this is why we hope that in the coming ours other companies in the fashion sector, and in other sectors as well, will give their contribution.”
