At the book launch, where selected examples of some of the publication’s content were exhibited for viewing, UNHCR Representative Mr. Sivanka Dhanapala gratefully acknowledged the CEO of Ketab Sara Publishing Co., Mr. Samii, for his high level of cooperation in the pro-bono design and production of this booklet.
UNHCR Iran – In Photos provides a pictorial overview of the close coordination between UNHCR and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been assisting refugees across the country for close to four decades. Featuring pictures from a range of talented photographers and complemented by informative descriptions, the booklet introduces a summary of the refugee situation in the context of Iran, as well as the joint activities and services provided to refugees in the areas of health, education and livelihoods.
UNHCR expresses its deep appreciation to Mr. Samii for Ketab Sara Publishing Co.’s continued support and kind generosity in producing UNHCR Iran – In Photos on a pro-bono basis. The publication will be highly effective in enhancing the visibility of the refugee situation in Iran and will act as an important tool in helping raise awareness – particularly to the international community – of the Government of Iran’s commendable efforts in improving the services available to refugees in cooperation with UNHCR.
