World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Iran

An exhibition was organized in Teheran featuring portraits of refugee children by well-known Iranian artists. The show also included paintings done by refugee children during a workshop organized by UNHCR. Refugee children took part in a performance of music and songs.

In the UNHCR sub-office in Mashad, some 300 young Afghan refugees took part in a question and answer session with Iranian and Afghan refugee officials. A musical performance followed.

UNHCR also organized special events, including speeches, painting and essay competitions, puppet shows, games, cultural performances and music recitals, in Zahedan, Ahwaz and Shiraz.
