Architect Sir Richard Rogers shares the story of his own family's displacement
© A. Zuckerman/2008
"It was World War II that caused my family to leave Italy and make a new home in the UK. My family was fortunate in having a new home to come to, but many others are not – forced to flee their homes and run to an uncertain future. With displacement at its highest level for a generation, this is the most urgent story of our time. Please join me in supporting World Refugee Day by sharing these stories."
Architect Sir Richard Rogers is perhaps best known for his work on the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the Millennium Dome and the European Court of Human Rights Building in Strasbourg.
