Earlier this year, Bakhtawar, along with her three precious daughters, experienced a heartwarming reunion.
A true testament of love and determination, her husband, who was a refugee himself and has since resettled to Australia, tirelessly worked to sponsor his beloved wife and children.

Their story doesn’t stop here. Previously back in 2019 and February this year, her husband embarked on two journeys to bring his two other daughters to join their family in Australia. Together, they’ve woven a tale of strength, resilience, and unwavering love.

At UNHCR, we’re honored to witness these heart-touching moments of families coming together and eager to support such private sponsorship effort akin to what the Bahktawar Family did.
Private sponsorship is among the many pathways that refugees can use in their hopes of seeking safety. Other options include education and employment.

Let’s continue supporting these journeys of hope and togetherness!
