Chile: UNICEF-UNHCR Coalition launches the  “Mi Nacionalidad Tiene Cuento” Contest

In August 2018, UNHCR and UNICEF launched a story contest for children in Chile called “Mi Nacionalidad Tiene Cuento” (My Nationality has a Story) under the umbrella of the Coalition on Every Child’s Right to a Nationality. The competition seeks to promote the right of every child to acquire a nationality by asking to children to write a real or fictional story about nationality as part of one’s identity.

The contest is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Arts and Heritage, the Ministry of Education, the National Institute of Human Rights, the Office of the Defender of the Rights of Children, the Undersecretary of Human Rights and the Chilean Book Association.

The deadline for submissions is 12 October 2018 and the award ceremony will be held on 9 November 2018.
