The Special Secretariat for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors in Greece (SSPUAM), the UNHCR Representation in Greece and Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences are organizing on Tuesday 7 March 2023 a conference titled: “National Emergency Response Mechanism for the protection of unaccompanied children in precarious living conditions (NERM): from needs assessment to response”.
The conference will present the successes, challenges and key findings about the NERM, starting from the Panteion University research study on homeless unaccompanied children in Greece, that led to the implementation of the Mechanism, and proceeding to the two-year period of its pilot implementation by SSPUAM, with the support of UNHCR. The NERM will be also analysed through its institutional footprint, while future plans for the Mechanism and more broadly for the protection of unaccompanied children in Greece shall be presented.
