Art exhibition with the works of the 20 finalists of “Shedia” children’s drawing contest
organized in cooperation with UNHCR

“Shedia” street paper was filled with homes. Small homes, big homes, country and urban homes, homes filled with people and colour, empty and gloomy homes, warm and luminous homes, homes far away… Many, many different homes, 2,053 homes to be precise, from throughout Greece.
What for? For the children’s drawing contest of “Shedia” street paper on the concept of “home”, which was organized this year in collaboration with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. After three months of preparation and two days of hard work for evaluating the drawings, the seven members of the contest’s evaluation committee concluded their difficult task, selecting the 20 best artworks.
We are warmly inviting you to join with the children, their parents and family members, the friends and readers of “Shedia” at the opening of the exhibition hosting the artworks of the 20 finalists on Sunday 22 January 2023, at 11:00, at the premises of “Shedia” street paper, “Shedia home” (56, Kolokotroni & 2, Nikiou str.) in the heart of Athens.

The jury of the contest comprised of Elina Anthi, a student of the second grade at Moraitis School; Foteini Darra, singer; Gerasimos Daskalakis, a vendor of “Shedia”; Popi Dionysopoulou, member of the Communications and Public Information Unit of UNHCR in Greece; Daphne Zoumboulakis, director of Zoumboulakis Galleries; Michalis Kountouris, cartoonist; and George Bilalis, publisher of the “En plo” publication house.
