What kind of initiatives do Greek municipalities take in the field of the social integration of refugees, migrants and other vulnerable groups? What initiatives inspire change and promote innovation? This is some of the information that will be presented on www.cnigreece.gr, which is developed under the support provided to the Cities Network for Integration (CNI) by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on the basis of trilateral cooperation with the Municipality of Athens.
The new website is an information hub, which aims to highlight initiatives led by Greek municipalities that promote inclusiveness in local communities. Available in Greek and English, the website is aimed at institutional representatives, policy makers, civil society organizations, professionals working in the field of support and protection of vulnerable groups, as well as at the general audience.
For the first time, one can find at one place information on joint initiatives of the CNI member – municipalities as well as good practices of each municipality in areas such as social integration of third country nationals in the workplace and in the educational system as well as public awareness raising, knowledge and engagement.
The user can also find the social facilities, services, and programs supporting and empowering migrants and refugees in each municipality. At the same time, through the production of original content, CNI seeks to promote inclusive messaging to combat misinformation and hate speech.
