With less than six months until the end of the #IBelong Campaign to End Statelessness, 2024 presents a strategic moment for reflection on progress in our collective efforts to resolve statelessness in Europe. It offers an opportunity to take stock of achievements since the launch of the Campaign in 2014 and discuss remaining gaps and challenges to bring an end to statelessness in Europe. Together with the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), UNHCR’s Regional Bureau for Europe will organize an online regional dialogue to reflect on the past 10 years and look ahead.

The discussion will first examine some good practices and achievements, including in the areas of engagement with people with lived experience of statelessness; awareness-raising among at risk communities; and strengthening a multi-stakeholder approach.

Participants will then look at ahead to key opportunities to address statelessness and discuss the upcoming launch of the Global Alliance to End Statelessness.

This is an event reserved for civil society actors. Should you be interested in attending, please register through this form. Participants will receive a Teams invitation in their calendars.

We would also kindly ask that you participate in a short survey to collect information about NGO’s key achievements, remaining challenges, priorities and opportunities for the future. The results of this survey will be presented during the event and form the basis for the discussions. The outcomes of the meeting will feed into a global Campaign report and be used to revise the Global Action Plan to End Statelessness and related initiatives. Please complete the survey here.
