14 Dec 2004 A UNHCR team has visited the Emberá-Catío settlement of Las Playas in the Urabá region after three indigenous leaders were killed by armed men. Birth registration no small affair for refugee children in Ghana
8 Dec 2004 The UN refugee agency and the Ghanaian Registrar of Births and Deaths are registering children in Buduburam refugee settlement in order to provide them with birth certificates. This will fulfil their birthright to an identity and facilitate repatriation should their parents choose to return to Liberia. -
UNHCR beefs up presence near Bogota, sends mission to north

UNHCR donates equipment to women's hospital in Pakistan
18 Oct 2004 Lady Duffrin Hospital has received medical equipment worth $20,000, including an ultrasound machine, an electric generator and surgical equipment. This will help the non-profit hospital improve medical care for both Pakistani and Afghan refugee women.
