From August 26-29, UNHCR held its VII annual Summer School on Refugee Law and Statelessness at a scenic ecopark Aquarelle in Minsk region. The program brought together 19 law students to deepen their understanding of Refugee law and statelessness. Over the course of the event, participants attended 14 engaging lectures delivered by 10 experts from UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF, and partners such as the Refugee Counselling Service, World Without Borders, and government representatives.
A highlight of the program was a session featuring two refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan, which captured the students’ attention and sparked meaningful discussions. Additionally, a workshop on waste processing introduced students to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), conscious consumption, and upcycling, leaving a lasting impression.
The event also featured a lively quiz on refugee-related topics, organized by alumni, which saw enthusiastic participation. Overall, the VII Summer School received excellent feedback from attendees.
