At its 50th plenary meeting, on 16 December 1998, the Economic and Social Council decided to postpone to its organizational session for 1999, consideration of the note verbale dated 13 August 1998 from the Permanent Mission of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General1 and of the draft decision entitled "Enlargement of the Executive Committee of the Programme of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees".2
