Round Table in Paris

The High Commissioner will travel directly to Paris from Kosovo to attend a high level Round Table on the gap between humanitarian assistance and long-term development. The Round Table, which will be held tomorrow, 7 July, is being convened by UNHCR and the President of the Brookings Institution, Dr. Michael Armacost, as a follow-up of the meeting held in Washington, D.C. in January of this year on the same subject. In addition to the High Commissioner, the new Administrator of the UN Development Programme, Mark Malloch Brown, and the Managing Director of the World Bank. Sven Sandström, will participate along with other invitees.
