In photos: Barbara Hendricks visits refugees in Greece

Barbara speaks with Samira, an Iranian mother with two children, who was forced to flee and is waiting in a Greek refugee camp to register for asylum.

Barbara speaks to Fatima, a 22 year old Afghan mother who travelled with her two children for 8 months to reach Greece. Fatima said she left Afghanistan because women were treated so badly and there was no respect, no opportunity for education and no future for her children.

Barbara speaks to Madia, an Afghani refugee.

Barbara meets Fadwa, a Syrian refugee, her two children and the Greek family who is hosting them. Fadwa said she felt safe and that she was really living in her new family.

Barbara sings at the Concert Hall in Thessonaliki to open a fundraising event for refugees.

Barbara meets Aala at Diavata Camp, near Thessonaliki. Aala has severe disabilities and, despite being 8 years old, weighs only 10 kilos. His family carried him from Syria travelling by foot and by sea to seek medical help, but have been in Diavata Camp for 3 months.
