Qatar

Over the past decade, the State of Qatar has shown support to the refugee and forced displacement cause through contributing to UNHCR’s operations worldwide, as well as highlighting the plight of the displaced and advocating for their well-being.

This significant and strategic partnership has grown over the years with the Government of the State of Qatar, its leadership, its wide range of multi-disciplinary organizations, the private sector and the Qatari people.

Qatar leads the humanitarian response globally by supporting different sectors ranging from education, shelter, health, livelihoods and cash assistance. Contributions from Qatar towards UNHCR’s programmes have reached some USD 360 million (more than QAR 1.3 billion) over the past decade - a lifeline for millions of displaced persons globally.
